First FRCR Exam (FRCR Part 1) Guide 2026
The First FRCR Exam, also called FRCR Part 1 or CR1, comprises separate Anatomy and Physics modules for clinical radiology trainees.
First FRCR examination structure
Anatomy is an electronic image-viewing examination and Physics is a multiple-choice examination. Candidates may sit and pass the modules together or separately, but both are required to complete First FRCR.
Dates, fees, venues and marking
The examination is normally offered in March, June and September. Dates, booking windows, fees and venues can change, so candidates should confirm current arrangements with the Royal College of Radiologists.
